Coach Stephanie and Peter Defty from Vespa Power discuss the history of current nutrtion advice.  The advice is misleading and can be detrimental to athletes health.  Having self awareness and a health libido is a good indicator that the body is running properly.  Coach Stephanie belives that first a foremost, health should be the primary goal of an athlete and and secondary goal should be optimized performace.  With proper nutrtion and training, and athlete can have both.
